To protect himself from the extreme heat of the tornado, David Copperfield wore a Nomex suit for military flight, gloves and hood. He also applied a special gel on his face. To generate the F2 tornado, engineers used a 19 feet (or 5,8 meters), four-bladed helicopter rotor suspended 24 feet (or 7,3 meters) off the ground. The rotor has reached a maximum of 10 revolutions per second.
