As Scooby-Doo e i 13 fantasmi (1985) was the first series to have a similar format of narrative arcs, several references were made to said series as redesigning Vincent Van Ghoul (one of the characters in said series), and with cameos from Flim-Flam and Scrappy-Doo, although with the latter as a joke as Fred mention that they promised not to talk about him more, this in reference to the poor reception that Scrappy has from fans of the franchise.
