'Jotunheim' is also a place known from the Marvel Comics since 1963, and the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU): in Thor (2011), it is the planet inhabited by Frostgiants, and also Loki's planet of origin. Despite director James Gunn having directed several movies in the MCU, it is not a reference to Marvel, as Jotunheim is a place mentioned in DC Comics since the late 1980s; Rick Flag actually died inside Jotunheim in 'Baptism by Fire', thanks to an explosion during John Ostrander's original Suicide Squad comic run.
