(at around 31 mins) The concept of sharks being used as dino fodder was director Colin Trevorrow's idea, and was inspired by executive producer Steven Spielberg's Lo squalo (1975). Trevorrow was initially nervous that Spielberg might see it as criticism on Jaws, but Spielberg was very much amused by the idea, and made sure it was included in the movie.
