Cynthia Watros moved to Hawaii with her children to shoot her scenes for the second season of Lost. Unfortunately, the writers ran out of ideas for her character Libby, and much to Watros' sadness, they decided to kill her off in the very same season, together with Ana Lucia (Michelle Rodriguez), whose death had already been planned from the beginning of the season. The writers stated that the deaths of both characters were conceived well in advance of both actresses being charged with drunken-driving shortly thereafter, and in no way were they fired from the show. There were even plans to keep Watros on the show by exploring Libby's background in several flashbacks, but most of this did not happen due to Watros having other obligations.
