There are different two scenes used in the movie when the film is interrupted by the pesky gremlins invading the projection booth: for the theatrical and cable TV releases, the theatre owner, played by Paul Bartel, asks famed wrestling champ Hulk Hogan to threaten the gremlins, who start the movie up right away. In the home video version Hogan's cameo is replaced by footage of John Wayne from the movie Chisum (1970) but with a voice impersonator to stand in for the late Wayne.
