According to visual effects supervisor Scott Farrar, Sentinel Prime was physically modeled on Sir Sean Connery, and the role of Sentinel was offered to Connery but he turned it down. Sentinel quotes the "there can be only one" line from Connery's film Highlander - L'ultimo immortale (1986).
