To accommodate that the live-action scenes would be used for two aspect ratios (2.39:1 and 1.37:1, respectively), the live-action scenes were shot at far-view in the 3-perf Super 35 format. These scenes were matted to 2.39:1 for the "scope" version, and cropped to 1.37:1 for the "flat" version. The latter version, the 1.37:1 "flat" version, was matted to 1.85:1 for theaters that were not equipped for anamorphic lenses, though the Amazon Prime version with bonus features presents the flat version of these scenes (as well as the CGI scenes) at 1.78:1, in order to best represent the 1.85:1 aspect ratio.
