When Peabody and Sherman are going to the future the WABAC machine's speedometer briefly displays 88 miles per hour, the speed required for the Delorean time machine in Ritorno al futuro (1985). That movie paid homage to the original Peabody's Improbable History (1959) by naming a minor character Sherman Peabody.
