The original voice for Leonardo Leonardo was going to be played by Alan Rickman, but was replaced by Alec Baldwin courtesy of ABC. When Rickman was still on board, the cartoon designers got inspiration from his character Hans Gruber from Trappola di cristallo (1988). Disagreeing with the concept, Rickman suggested them not to keep too close to his own persona, so they pushed their research further for a while. Ironically enough, when Baldwin came on, the designers came back to the Hans Gruber look they first though of.
