When McClintock (Sutherland) and Ford (Freeman) visit the mercenary camp in the prologue segment, their faces are obscured by their tinted mask visors. Their identities are foreshadowed when Dr. Iwabi shows McClintock the body of a dead soldier, whose face is reflected in the visor and is that of Sutherland.
