During an appearance in 1970 on The Dick Cavett Show (1968), Orson Welles said he didn't believe his masterpiece Citizen Kane was the greatest film ever made, which shocked host Cavett. But then Welles winked and said, "My next one is though". He started a couple of projects after that but never completed another full length film, though he did direct a few shorts.
