Bob Ewell's full name is Robert E. Lee Ewell. This is a reference to Gen. Robert E. Lee, the commanding general of the Confederate States of America's army during the American Civil War, also known as the War Between the States, or, in some circles, The War of Northern Aggression, as stated by Mrs. Peacock in another controversial piece: the 1996 X-Files TV episode "Home."
