Sheri Moon Zombie comes back as Deborah Myers even though her character committed suicide in the first film. In this film, she appears once in a flashback to Michael's stay in the ward, and as a hallucination to a grown Michael Myers. Because these hallucinations never happened in the first film, and don't have much relevance to this film's plot, it's commonly agreed amongst fans and critics that the only reason they're in this film was just because Rob Zombie needed an excuse to get his wife into the movie even though her character died.
