Joan Bennett, Alexandra Isles (Moltke) and later, Jonathan Frid had unique credit overlays during the closing credits. Joan Bennett always received first billing in the episodes she was in, with her credit overlay displaying "Starring JOAN BENNETT as Elizabeth Collins Stoddard" or whichever other character she was portraying in the storyline that was being presented at that moment on the show. Except for two episodes towards the end of her time on the show, Alexandra Isles always received last billing in the episodes she was in, with her credit overlay displaying "And ALEXANDRA MOLTKE as Victoria Winters." The two actresses that replaced her once she left, Betsy Durkin and Carolyn Groves, did not have the same arrangement, as their credit overlays were displayed the same way as the other actors and actresses on the show, with the name of the character on top with three dots behind it, and the name of the actor or actress who portrayed the character in all upper case letters underneath (i.e. "John Smith... JOHN DOE"). It was the same for Jonathan Frid until sometime after the beginning of the Leviathan storyline, where he had two credit overlays, one giving him first billing, displaying "Starring JONATHAN FRID as Barnabas Collins (and later Bramwell Collins)" whenever Ms. Bennett did not appear in an episode he was in and another giving him second billing, displaying "Also Starring JONATHAN FRID as Barnabas Collins (or Bramwell Collins)" whenever both he and Ms. Bennett appeared in the same episode. Even before these changes in the closing credits, Mr. Frid usually got top billing or second billing in the closing credits, once Barnabas Collins became a well-established character on the show.
