At the end of the movie, when Han and Gisele are shown riding as a couple, Gisele asks Han whether they will go to Tokyo, to which Han replies: "We'll get there...", and then adds after a long pause : "...eventually". Most likely, this is a nod to one of the previous movies in the series, The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift (2006), where Han gets killed during a car chase in Tokyo. Although The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift (2006) was shot before the next two installments in the series, Fast & Furious - Solo parti originali (2009) and Fast & Furious 5 (2011), it is considered that the events in the last two movies take place before The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift (2006) because Han is still alive in them.
