Iron Giant's character is shown strictly non-violent and peace-loving in this film. However in the 2018 film Ready Player One, a character named Aech uses the Iron Giant as an avatar during the last battle to Anorak's castle. In the battle sequence, the Giant is shown considerably violent, though he sacrifices himself to save his friends. This drew criticism from the original film's fans and even critics.
