Mia Farrow based her (impressive) southern English accent on Celia Johnson and watched several of her films to accomplish this. By coincidence Maggie Smith (Miss Bowers in the films) had appeared with Celia Johnson in The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie (1969), nine years previously.
