The seventh and, as of 2022, final collaboration between director Kar-Wai Wong and cinematographer Christopher Doyle. As with In the Mood for Love (2000), Doyle left the film halfway through production due to its falling far behind schedule and was replaced by Pun-Leung Kwan.
