Koba is partly responsible for the ALZ-113 pandemic because he exposed Robert Franklin who was not wearing his breathing mask properly while the 113's feed tube was loose. This makes Carver's statement in Apes Revolution - Il pianeta delle scimmie (2014) somewhat true about apes having already "killed off half the planet".
