The series spawned two Saturday morning animated spinoffs and three live-action sequels. The first was the 24-episode Filmation-produced cartoon L'isola delle 1000 avventure (1974), which was followed eight years later by the 13-episode sci-fi-themed Il pianeta delle 1000 avventure (1982). Dawn Wells voiced both Mary Ann and Ginger. The three TV-movie sequels were Rescue from Gilligan's Island (1978), Naufragio in allegria (1979), and The Harlem Globetrotters on Gilligan's Island (1981). The original cast minus Tina Louise (Ginger) returned for all of these productions.
