The following items make this film different from the first two in the franchise: Frank the Pug does not appear in this movie, but his picture is seen in two places: J's apartment, and a carnival poster at Coney Island (seen when J is pulled over). David Cross also does not appear in this film. It can be assumed from the second movie that he did in fact immigrate to Cambodia. In fact, Agents J (Will Smith) & K (Tommy Lee Jones) and possibly the woman who lives in K's apartment in an alternate time-line (credited as "mom" in this film) is the same woman in Men in Black II (2002), a waitress, whom Patrick Warburton's character is told to marry and have a bunch of kids are the only characters from the first two movies to appear here. The first Men in Black movie for which Will Smith did not release a music single or videoWill Smith's first movie in four years, since the release of Sette anime (2008).
