On Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen (2009) in 2020, Rosie O'Donnell revealed that Bill Cosby made an inappropriate sexual joke to one of her female producers while in the green room of The Rosie O'Donnell Show (1996). While this producer was preparing Cosby's appearance as a special mystery guest, Cosby replied, "All she has to do is put her hand right here, and she'll know it's me," and proceeded to put his hand in between his legs. Horrified, the producer ran out of the green room crying. Another executive producer, an African-American man, then entered the green room and had a discussion with Cosby about appropriate and inappropriate discussions. O'Donnell was not notified about the incident until after the show. Years later, she attempted to discuss the incident when she co-hosted The View (1997), but the show runners would not allow her to do so. She later said that she was not surprised with sexual misconduct allegation arose against Cosby.
