Around the time of the second "Austin Powers" movie, Mike Myers became friends with Deepak Chopra (because Chopra learned that Myers loves his books). Like Myers being partially inspired by Chopra to make this movie, Deepak Chopra was inspired by Myers to write an inspirational novel called "Why Is God Laughing?", the story of a comedian named Mickey Fellows who, like Myers, begins a spiritual quest after the death of his father. Myers contributed the foreword to the book.
