Bulbasaur, after Pikachu, is the only other Pokémon Ash has owned for the longest time period and was on his team longer than any other Pokemon (except Pikachu) having stayed with him during the entire (first) Kanto and Orange Islands sagas, as well as the majority of the Johto saga.
