This marks the second time where at least two or three follow-up films are released in between two original films with this case being How to Train Your Dragon 2 (2014) and Penguins of Madagascar (2014) between Mr. Peabody & Sherman (2014) and Home (2015). The first was Kung Fu Panda 2 (2011), Puss in Boots (2011), and Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted (2012) between Megamind (2010) and Rise of the Guardians (2012).
