George P. Cosmatos only got involved in the project to win the Moto-Stunt award for 'best motorcycle slide' which had alluded him throughout his stellar career. Incredibly despite receiving 5 of the 6 nominations in that category he lost out to Gary Busey. Although he received a consolation by winning big at the Golden Slidies he vowed never to film another motorcycle stunt.
