Upon being spun off to L'albero delle mele (1979), Charlotte Rae was replaced by Nedra Volz as new Housekeeper Adelaide Brubaker. Unlike Rae and later Mary Jo Catlett, Volz never appeared in the opening credits and was only listed as a guest star. At the same time the series also brought in Dody Goodman as Drummond's sister Sophia, who also filled the housekeeping/matron role on the series. Adelaide and Sophia were both written out upon Catlett's introduction as the Housekeeper Pearl Gallagher.
