The film originally had a different ending shot, where Jordan dies while saving her Command Master Chief, and after her nationally televised funeral, three other women are shown reporting for CRT training, having been inspired by her selfless sacrifice. Even though test audiences preferred this ending, Disney / Hollywood Pictures execs asked Ridley Scott to reshoot a happier ending.
