Actor and stunt co-ordinator Grant Page was originally thought of for playing the part of 'The Fanatic' in the film which in the end was cast with actor Gary Sweet with Page in the end portraying 'The Veteran' character instead. So stuntman Grant Page had been considered for 'The Fanatic' in the original treatment, but ten years had passed, and the casting no longer seemed appropriate, said director Rolf de Heer, so "I shifted Grant to 'The Veteran'."
