The ending where Madonna places a rose at Al's gravestone and a hand reaches out of the dirt to grab her was a parody of the ending scene of Carrie - Lo sguardo di Satana (1976) where Sue Snell has a nightmare in which she places a rose on Carrie's grave and her hand reaches up to pull her into the ground.
