Both Avery Brooks and Jennifer Lien are part of the Star Trek franchise. Avery played Captain Sisko on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (1993) and Lien played Kes on Star Trek: Voyager (1995). One of the original themes of Star Trek was a multicultural collection of cast and characters coming together to solve problems of intolerance and bigotry as a social commentary of the 1960s.
