The portrayal of unicorns harks back to the very first myths about them being aggressive and untameable, rather than graceful and magical. It's only on screen very briefly and you need to look closely to make it out, but Laurel apparently buys milk from Audhumla Dairies - Audhumla being the name of the primeval cow, one of the more obscure figures from Norse Mythology.
