The depiction of Starro in the movie is accurate to the original in DC Comics: in its Starro is a sea star-shaped alien with an only one eye in the center who has the ability to survive in the vacuum of outer space and clone to itself in little facehugger spores that mentally control to the infected with the spores, turning any living being in a slave of its will. Not revealed in the movie, in the original DC Comics Starro is part of an alien race named Star Conquerors, which are gifted with immortality, capacity to alter its shape and color, an unlimited regeneration, shot energy blasters and invulnerability to any weapon.
