Director Fausto Brizzi was accused of sexual harassment by multiple women two months before the film's scheduled release, leading to speculation about the movie being delayed or pulled altogether. It was eventually announced that the film would be released as planned, but Brizzi would not take part in any promotional activities, and his name would be removed from trailers and posters. In 2018 he was formally charged with three counts of sexual assault. The charges were later dropped.
