For shooting the pre-visualization sequences for the speeder chase scenes, Luke Skywalker's speeder from Guerre stellari (1977) was dug out of storage, and used to represent the open-cockpit speeder with Anakin and Obi-Wan, and George Lucas' own Ferrari was used to represent Zam's speeder.
