Quasimodo mother's manner of death is rather unusual compared to other deceased and innocent characters, as she was clearly seen being murdered by Frollo. Most of the time, if innocent characters are killed, their death is usually off-screen and are later never seen again, shown to be dead without a scratch, or are close to dying. Some examples of these include Todd's mother in The Fox and the Hound (1981), Mufasa in The Lion King (1994), Ray in The Princess and the Frog (2009), Tadashi Hamada in Big Hero 6 (2014), Mr. Arrow in Treasure Planet (2002), Aladar's mother in Dinosaur (2000), Bambi's mother in Bambi (1942), and Sitka and Koda's mother in Brother Bear (2003).
