It is unfortunate for the international market that the name of little Tabatha was later changed by a typo to Tabitha: in France---as well as other European countries where Latin-based languages are spoken---her name was always pronounced TAH-bah-tah. It made no sense then to, all of a sudden, see it spelled with an "i", as in France (and Spain, Italy and Portugal) it would have then have needed to be pronounced: Tah-BEE-tah.
