(at around 8 mins) At the beginning of the movie when Professor X calls the President you get a good glimpse at his wheelchair. Its colour is blue with a white cross which reminds of the Scottish flag. This is a reference to James McAvoy's home country Scotland. You can see this again more clearly when he enters Cerebro shortly afterwards.
