This film went into production under the working title "Weekend of Terror". It was later changed to "Mrs. Manning's Weekend". The original writers Michael Ronald Ross and Anthony Overman had considered those titles and "Freak" inspired by Todd Browning's "Freaks". Michael wanted to call it "Daddy's Girls", but no one else seemed to like that title. It was finally named "Death Game" for the film's limited theatrical release in 1977, some three years after completion of principal photography, and the resolution of director Peter Traynor's legal troubles with his investors. It was released on VHS as "The Seducers" in 1981.
