This is the second time in a row that a former Il Saturday Night Live (1975) cast member/Weekend Update anchor was promoted to hosting this show (the first was Jimmy Fallon in 2009). This also means that both Late Night and The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon (2014) are simultaneously hosted by past SNL actors starting in 2014.
