This is the first non-Disney/Pixar film to win the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature since Rango (2011). It's also the sixth non-Disney/Pixar film to win the award, after Shrek (2001), La città incantata (2001) (with the release date of the english dub occurring in 2002), Wallace & Gromit - La maledizione del coniglio mannaro (2005), Happy Feet (2006), and Rango (2011).
