Akan mentions that he's got Estelle dolled up and held captive in a van. She is, but has been wearing the same red-on-black palette that Akan wears for most of the movie; even in the opening scene she's wearing black high heels in the laboratory, foreshadowing that she's not really the scientist she says she is and giving her a visual connection to Akan.
