While filming the climax, John Landis had a bit of a communication issue on the set with the British crew. He told them to take the head of Inspector Villiers and throw it across the hood of a car. The crew looked at him in puzzlement. After Landis picked up the head and threw it himself, they replied, "Oh, you mean the bonnet."
