In the series, Heatwave and Captain Cold are depicted as friends while Cold is aware of the Flash's secret identity. In DC comics however, it was in face Heatwave who learned of Barry's identity first and he and Captain Cold were rivals for the top villain; only ever teaming up on occasion to stop the Flash. Also contrasting to the show, Captain Cold sacrificed himself to save others. In the comics, it was again Heatwave who along with 3 other of the "Rogues" sacrificed themselves in a battle against Neron. (The very same demon that Constantine battles in season 4)
