When Return to Oz was released in June 1985, only two members of Il mago di Oz (1939) main cast were still alive: Ray Bolger (Hunk/Scarecrow) and Pat Walshe (Lead Flying Monkey). Margaret Hamilton (Miss Gulch/Wicked Witch) had died in May 1985.
