The favorite film of filmmaker and Star Wars creator George Lucas. An episode of Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2008), Star Wars: The Clone Wars: Bounty Hunters (2010) was even based on this film and was dedicated to Kurosawa. An alien character introduced in the episode, Embo, had his species named Kyuzo, after this film's sword master played by Seiji Miyaguchi.
