This is the fourth time a movie, based on a comic, has been nominated for a Best Actor in a Supporting Role Academy Award, and the first time one has won. The others are Al Pacino for Dick Tracy (1990), Paul Newman for Era mio padre (2002), and William Hurt for A History of Violence (2005).
