After debuting at number two at the U.S. box office in it's opening weekend, it managed to hit number one in it's second weekend. It ended up ultimately being the only Dreamworks Animation film of 2014 to hit number one at all. Dragon Trainer 2 (2014) and I pinguini di Madagascar: Il film (2014) both also debuted at number two, but they never hit number one.
