The last shot in the movie has Inspector Oscar Piper suddenly proposing to Hildegarde Withers. When she accepts, he exclaims, "Okay! The license bureau closes in fifteen minutes!" The two dash out the door as the movie ends. This is surprising in view of the fact that the two characters are not married in the sequels they starred in, and no reference to romance is made by either character.
